Trump Says Iran Has Agreed to Abandon Nuclear Weapons Program
During his remarks, Trump stated that Iran has committed to never developing or acquiring nuclear weapons in the future.
“They will not purchase, develop, or possess a nuclear weapon in any way, shape, or form,” Trump said, emphasizing that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear capabilities had been a key objective of the negotiations.
Later, while addressing supporters during a tele-rally for Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, Trump went a step further and declared that the United States had effectively “ended the war with Iran.”
“I don’t know if you heard, but we ended the war with Iran today, and they have agreed never to have a nuclear weapon. That was the whole purpose,” Trump told supporters.
Middle East Leaders Involved in Diplomatic Discussions
Trump revealed that he had personally spoken with leaders from several countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Pakistan, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The discussions were reportedly aimed at securing broader regional support for the proposed agreement and ensuring stability in the Gulf region.
According to Trump, the deal is structured as a detailed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which he believes will pave the way for a lasting agreement.
“This is a very strong and very detailed memorandum of understanding,” he said. “It’s something that’s going to get done.”

Trump’s latest comments mark a sharp change in tone from earlier in the day. On Thursday morning, he had warned that the United States was prepared to take strong military action against Iran and even threatened to target Kharg Island, the country’s primary oil export hub.
However, only a few hours later, the President announced that military plans had been called off due to encouraging progress in peace negotiations.
