Himachal Pradesh University Opens PG Admissions 2026: Apply Online Before April 24

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has officially begun the admission process for postgraduate (PG) courses for the academic session 2026–27, inviting online applications from eligible candidates. The last date to submit applications is April 24, 2026, giving aspirants a limited window to secure their spot in one of the state’s premier universities.

According to the official notification, admissions will be granted based on performance in entrance examinations and, in some cases, past academic records. This move aims to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process.

HPU is offering a wide range of postgraduate programs across multiple disciplines. In the science stream, candidates can apply for MSc courses in Physics, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science. Meanwhile, the arts and humanities stream includes MA programs in Geography, English, Social Work, Sanskrit, Economics, Psychology, History, and Political Science, among others.

Students who have already completed their qualifying examinations or are awaiting results are eligible to apply. However, their final admission will depend on meeting the required percentage criteria and submitting all necessary documents, including the final mark sheet, within the specified timeline.

University officials have emphasized that candidates must ensure all documents are ready before the admission process concludes, as failure to comply may lead to cancellation of admission.

With competition expected to be high, students are advised to complete their applications well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues. The admission process presents a significant opportunity for students aiming to pursue higher education at a reputed institution like HPU.
