Taking a major step towards preserving Himachal Pradesh’s rich cultural legacy, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated a state-of-the-art digital museum at Bantony in Shimla. The museum has been developed to present the state’s history and traditions through cutting-edge digital technology, offering visitors an immersive and interactive experience.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described Bantony as an important landmark in Shimla’s historical journey and said the new museum represents a significant milestone in conserving and promoting Himachal’s heritage.

“This is not just the inauguration of another institution but the beginning of a new chapter in heritage conservation. The digital museum will connect the past with the future, allowing people to explore Himachal Pradesh’s rich history and vibrant culture in a modern and engaging way,” Sukhu said.

The museum has been equipped with advanced technologies such as high-resolution 3D scanning, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), interactive timelines, and immersive storytelling. These digital features are designed to make history more engaging and accessible for visitors of all age groups, especially young learners and tourists.

The initiative is expected to strengthen cultural tourism in Shimla while helping preserve the state’s historical treasures for future generations. By blending tradition with technology, the digital museum aims to offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience Himachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage like never before.
