Mandi Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday inaugurated a mobile medical van service in Chansari village of Kullu district, aiming to make primary and preventive healthcare more accessible for people living in remote rural areas. The initiative has been launched in collaboration with NHPC and is being operated by Matrix Society for Social Services.

Speaking at the inauguration, Kangana Ranaut said that ensuring quality healthcare reaches every citizen, especially those living in the most remote parts of the country, remains one of the Central Government’s key priorities. She described the mobile medical van as an important step towards delivering healthcare services directly to people who often struggle to access medical facilities due to difficult terrain.

Highlighting the healthcare challenges faced by residents of Himachal Pradesh’s hilly regions, the MP said that many villages continue to experience limited access to hospitals and medical infrastructure. The new mobile healthcare service has been introduced to bridge this gap by bringing essential medical facilities closer to rural communities.

Under the initiative, the mobile medical van will provide free health check-ups, blood tests, essential medicines, and primary treatment services at villagers’ doorsteps. The service is expected to benefit elderly citizens, women, economically weaker families, and other vulnerable groups who frequently travel long distances for even basic healthcare needs.

The project is expected to significantly improve access to preventive healthcare while reducing the burden of travel for patients in Kullu’s remote villages. Local residents are likely to benefit from timely medical consultations and essential health services without having to visit distant hospitals.
