Shimla, April 28:
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh has taken a strong stance following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, asserting that the Congress Party stands firmly with the central government during this time of national grief. He emphasized that all 1.4 billion Indians are united and that the time has come for decisive and stern action against terrorism.

Singh did not hold back in his criticism of Pakistan, stating that it is imperative now to teach it a lesson. He recalled that in 1971, then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi led the nation to victory by splitting Pakistan into two, and said that a similar spirit of unity and resolve is needed today. He added that the Pahalgam attack demands retribution and called for the country to come together to take strong and resolute steps.

He also welcomed the central government’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, affirming that the Congress Party supports every decision taken in the national interest.

Vikramaditya Singh further informed that in light of the Pahalgam incident, the Congress Party has suspended all its scheduled programs. Taking a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he criticized BJP leaders for participating in public celebrations and traditional dances (Nati) while the nation mourns, calling it highly insensitive. He urged all political leaders to respect the sentiments of the public during this difficult time.
