Shimla: Two people died, two injured as JCB falls into ditch
Shimla, April 19: Two people died and two others were injured in a road accident on Jwala Mata Mandir Marg under Dhali police station in the capital Shimla. The accident happened on Friday night when a JCB went out of control and fell into a ditch. The deceased have been identified as JCB operator Sukhdev Rana alias Bunty resident of Chaudhpur Bela, district Ropar (Punjab) and Harinam Negi.
The accident report has been lodged by Charanjit Singh son of Deha Singh, resident of Chaudhpur Bela, Ropar, Punjab. He told that he was present at the construction site with JCB operator Sukhdev Rana alias Bunty. Sukhdev was driving the JCB (number PB06BA5827) and Neeraj and Harinam Negi were also riding in the vehicle with him.
As soon as the JCB reached near Jwala Mata temple, suddenly the JCB lost its balance and slipped from the road and fell into a deep ditch. There was chaos at the spot after the accident. The locals immediately informed the 108 ambulance service. The ambulance team reached the spot and rushed all the four injured in critical condition to IGMC Shimla, where doctors declared Sukhdev Rana and Harinam Negi dead.
After preliminary investigation, the police found that the accident happened due to the negligence of the JCB operator, who lost control of the vehicle. A case has been registered under Sections 125, 125 (A) and 106 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) at Police Station Dhali and action is being taken. Post-mortem of the bodies is being done.
