A fresh wave of fear has gripped Shimla as repeated bomb threats continue to disrupt normal life, prompting authorities to rethink their security approach. In the latest incident, miscreants pasted a threatening poster on Bhrarai Road, warning of possible explosions at a courtroom and the SDM office in Rohru.

The alarming message has once again raised concerns among residents and officials, as similar threats have surfaced multiple times in recent months.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Singh confirmed that the police have taken the threat seriously. “Security checks are being carried out thoroughly at the court and SDM offices in Rohru,” he said. He also added that teams have been deployed to identify those responsible for putting up the poster.

Series of Threats Raises Concern

This is not an isolated incident. Shimla has been witnessing a troubling pattern of anonymous bomb threats, often sent online, targeting key institutions like the High Court and well-known schools.

Just last week, panic spread across the city when several schools received bomb threats, forcing authorities to send students home early. The sudden evacuations caused anxiety among parents and highlighted gaps in emergency preparedness.

Authorities Working on New Strategy

In response to the recurring threats, the district administration is now planning a comprehensive strategy in coordination with school authorities and law enforcement agencies.

Officials aim to strengthen emergency response systems, improve communication channels, and ensure quick verification of such threats to avoid unnecessary panic.

Public Urged to Stay Alert but Calm

Authorities have urged citizens not to panic but remain vigilant. “We are taking all necessary precautions. Public cooperation is crucial in maintaining peace,” officials stated.
