A wave of panic swept across Shimla on Monday morning after several schools received alarming emails claiming that explosive devices had been planted on their premises. The threats led to immediate evacuations and a large-scale security response across the town.

School administrations acted swiftly upon receiving the emails, ensuring that students and staff were safely moved out of buildings. Parents were promptly informed, triggering anxious scenes as many rushed to schools to take their children home.

Police and Bomb Squads Conduct Massive Search Operations

Local police teams, along with bomb disposal squads, were quickly deployed to multiple locations. Authorities carried out thorough sanitisation checks and precautionary mock drills to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are currently underway. He revealed that the threatening email did not name any specific school but broadly warned about explosives allegedly planted in educational institutions across Shimla.

No Suspicious Objects Found So Far

Despite extensive searches, officials have not found any suspicious items or explosive devices so far. However, authorities are not taking any chances and continue to remain on high alert.

Threat Email Linked to Previous Incidents

According to police sources, the email appears similar in pattern to earlier threats sent to key institutions, including High Courts, DC offices, and the Secretariat. This has raised concerns about a possible recurring hoax or coordinated attempt to create panic.

Situation Under Control, Investigation Continues

Officials have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. Security agencies are working to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible.

While the situation is currently under control, authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any untoward incidents.
