According to the Meteorological Department, multiple areas recorded significant rainfall in a short span. Palampur received around 30 mm of rain, closely followed by Rampur with 29 mm. Other regions such as Rohru, Sarahan, and Bilaspur also witnessed steady downpours.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning were reported in several areas including Shimla, Kangra, Sundernagar, and Bhuntar, raising safety concerns among residents.
The state capital, Shimla, also experienced heavy rainfall, which led to a noticeable drop in temperature, making the weather significantly cooler than usual for this time of year.
Weather Alerts Issued
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for districts including Shimla, Kullu, Solan, Mandi, and Sirmaur, warning of heavy rainfall in isolated areas over the next few hours. Meanwhile, a yellow alert remains in effect for Kangra, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Lahaul & Spiti, where light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms is expected.
Rain Likely Till May 5
Officials have forecast that wet weather conditions will persist across Himachal Pradesh until May 5, urging residents and travelers to remain cautious, especially in landslide-prone areas.

- Dharamsala: 17.6°C
- Manali: 8.7°C
- Bhuntar: 11.5°C

- Nahan: 14.1°C

- Mandi: 15°C
- Kangra: 16.7°C
- Paonta Sahib: 22°C
