5-year-old innocent raped in Shimla, neighbour arrested

Shimla, April 10: In the last few days, there has been an increase in crimes against girls and women in Shimla. Recently, a 24-year-old woman was raped and blackmailed by her neighbour in the city. Apart from this, in Jubbal police station area of ​​Upper Shimla, the family members also suspected the rape of their 3-year-old daughter. The girl’s father has lodged a police case suspecting the girl’s maternal grandfather of rape. Now the latest case has come up in Shimla city where a 5-year-old girl has been raped.

The shameful thing is that a 19-year-old youth living in the neighbourhood has been accused of raping an innocent girl. Regarding this, the mother of the victim has lodged a complaint in the women’s police station. She told that the accused called her daughter on some pretext and did a disgusting act with her.

The police took immediate action and took the accused youth into custody and he is being questioned intensively. Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 64, 65(2) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) and section 4 of the POCSO Act. The girl is undergoing medical examination at a local hospital.

The accused has been taken into custody and his interrogation is underway. The medical report is awaited, a police official said. The accused is a neighbour of the victim and is around 19 years old. Police are investigating the case thoroughly and every aspect is being closely examined.
