Senior journalist Gaurav Bisht is no more, media world mourns

Senior journalist and Hindustan Times state bureau chief Gaurav Bisht (49) died of cardiac arrest last night at his Shimla residence. His body is being taken to his native place Rohru on Thursday. His last rites will be performed tomorrow, August 30 at 10:00 am at Mokshadham in his native village.

Shimla, August 29: Senior journalist and Hindustan Times state bureau chief Gaurav Bisht (49) died of cardiac arrest last night at his Shimla residence. His body is being taken to his native place Rohru on Thursday. His last rites will be performed tomorrow, August 30 at 10:00 am at Mokshadham in his native village.

Senior journalist Gaurav Bisht has left behind his wife and a son. He was posted as the state bureau chief of Hindustan Times in Shimla for the last 13 years. Earlier, he had also served as a special correspondent of Hindustan Times in Dharamshala.

There is a wave of mourning in the media world due to his death. Shimla journalists, social workers and politicians are expressing condolences after receiving the news of his death. Gaurav Bisht was known as an outspoken, fearless journalist and a lively person. Gaurav Bisht, who served in the Hindustan Times Group for a long time, not only worked as an inspiration for the media but also for the society.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh and his cabinet colleagues and Shimla MLA Harish Janartha have expressed deep condolences on the sudden demise of Gaurav Bisht. All the state BJP leaders including BJP National President JP Nadda have also expressed their condolences on the death of Gaurav Bisht.
