Shimla Mashobra Marathon 2026 Draws 200 Runners From Across India Amid Scenic Himalayan Views
Shimla witnessed a vibrant sporting atmosphere on Sunday as nearly 200 runners from different parts of the country participated in the much-awaited Shimla Mashobra Marathon 2026. The event was organised by Run and Thrive Fitness at HIPA Fairlawns under the leadership of Kuldeep Sandhu.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayan hills, the marathon route stretched from HIPA to Baikhalti, giving participants a memorable running experience through the scenic landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. The event attracted fitness enthusiasts, professional runners, and first-time marathon participants alike.
The marathon featured three major race categories — Full Marathon (42 km), Half Marathon, and 10-km Run — with athletes showcasing remarkable endurance and determination throughout the competition.
In the prestigious 42-km full marathon category, Shimla’s own Krishan Raj Rokaya delivered an outstanding performance and secured first place by completing the race in 2 hours, 58 minutes, and 11 seconds. In the women’s division, Navanya Sharma emerged victorious with a finishing time of 5 hours, 37 minutes, and 54 seconds.
The half marathon category also witnessed strong competition among runners. Jatin claimed the top spot in the men’s section with an impressive timing of 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 52 seconds. Meanwhile, Nisha Chandnani finished first in the women’s category after completing the race in 2 hours, 37 minutes, and 25 seconds.
In the 10-km race, Anshul secured first place in the men’s category by clocking 36 minutes and 26 seconds. On the women’s side, Anamika delivered a strong performance and finished first with a timing of 45 minutes and 58 seconds.
After the successful conclusion of the marathon, the winners were felicitated by Dr. Manish Gupta, Head of the Department of Radiotherapy at Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital. The event concluded on a high note, celebrating fitness, sportsmanship, and community participation in the lap of nature.
The Shimla Mashobra Marathon is gradually becoming one of the region’s prominent fitness events, encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle while promoting sports tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
