Qatar Condemns Alleged IRGC-Linked Infiltration Near Kuwait
Meanwhile, tensions in the Gulf intensified after Qatar condemned the reported infiltration of an armed group allegedly linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island.
According to Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, Kuwaiti armed forces intercepted the group after clashes broke out during the operation. The incident reportedly injured a member of Kuwait’s military forces.
Qatar described the alleged infiltration as a “serious violation of international law” and warned that such actions could further destabilize the region. The Gulf nation also called for an immediate halt to attacks and hostile activities targeting neighboring states.
Iran Accuses US of Lacking Good Faith
Amid the ongoing regional tensions, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reportedly criticized Washington during talks with Norway’s deputy foreign minister in Tehran.
As quoted by Iranian state broadcaster Press TV, Araghchi said the “lack of good faith and dishonesty” from the United States remains one of the biggest obstacles to achieving long-term peace and ending ongoing conflicts in the region.
