24 Injured After Private Bus Overturns in Himachal’s Nurpur, Driver’s Sudden Health Issue Suspected

The bus, identified as Devi Darshan, lost control near Niazpur bus stop around 11 AM, causing panic among passengers and locals in the area.
Driver’s Health Emergency Likely Behind Accident
According to initial reports, the accident may have been triggered by a sudden health issue faced by the driver. Eyewitnesses and officials suggest that the driver possibly suffered a medical emergency, which led to loss of control over the steering wheel.
The bus was traveling from Chamba to Una at the time of the incident.
Rescue Operation: Locals Rush to Help
Soon after the accident, local residents were among the first to reach the spot. They played a crucial role in rescuing passengers trapped inside the overturned vehicle.
Emergency services were quickly alerted, and ambulances transported all injured passengers to Nurpur Civil Hospital for immediate medical attention.
4 Critically Injured Referred to Tanda Medical College
Out of the 24 injured, four individuals—including the driver—were reported to be in serious condition. They were referred to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda (Kangra) for advanced treatment.
The remaining 20 injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at Nurpur Civil Hospital and are said to be stable.
Leaders Visit Hospital, Assure Support
Following the incident, local leaders visited the hospital to check on the victims. Among those present were:

- Kangra MP Rajiv Bhardwaj
- Former MLA Ajay Mahajan
They assured full support to the injured and their families during this difficult time.
