BJP state president Dr Rajeev Bindal on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government, alleging that 2025 would be remembered for a complete breakdown of law and order, unchecked criminal activity and administrative failure across the state.

Addressing mediapersons, Bindal said the state’s crime graph had risen alarmingly, exposing what he described as a fragile and ineffective law enforcement system. He claimed that criminal incidents were being reported almost daily, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the public.

The BJP leader alleged that various mafias—including drug, mining and forest mafias—were operating openly, while incidents of gang wars had also surfaced, calling the situation deeply disturbing for a traditionally peaceful hill state. He said the growing drug menace was particularly worrying and posed a serious threat to the youth.

Bindal further claimed that the rise in daylight crimes reflected the deteriorating law and order situation. Citing specific cases, he said the death of engineer Vimal Negi remained unresolved, raising serious questions about the functioning and efficiency of investigative agencies.

Turning to natural disasters, Bindal said 2025 would also be remembered for the devastation caused by calamities across the state. He alleged that hundreds of families were rendered homeless, but the government failed to provide timely relief and proper rehabilitation. According to him, the administration’s response during these crises was marked by insensitivity and apathy.

Bindal asserted that the combined impact of rising crime, unchecked mafia activities, disaster mismanagement and shortcomings in the health sector had exposed the failures of the present government. He said the BJP would continue to raise these issues at every forum and hold the government accountable.
