Electricity board pensioners also participated in this demonstration organized across the state. The main demand of the employees is that all the 51 engineering posts abolished in the notification issued on October 16, 2024 should be restored and the services of 81 outsourced drivers should be resumed. Apart from this, the employees also demanded the benefit of Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

The United Front alleged that the government is trying to privatize the electricity board by dividing it into three parts—transmission, generation and distribution—through the Cabinet Sub Committee formed to improve the condition of the electricity board.
The front warned that if the government does not withdraw its decisions, they will be forced to fight a do-or-die battle. The electricity board employees have made it clear that they are not getting the benefits of the old pension scheme, and they are constantly raising their demands from the government on this issue. There are plans to intensify the movement after Diwali.

On this occasion, Joint Front President Lokesh Thakur said that the movement has been postponed for a few days due to Diwali festival. Giving 15 days to the government, he said, “If the government does not resolve our issues in this period, then we will plan a big movement, in which *tool down & pen down* will be announced, the date of which will be announced after Diwali. The employees have expressed their resolve to take concrete steps regarding their demands and have expected a quick solution from the government.
