Governor Kavinder Gupta has praised the efforts of the Akhil Bharatiya Kalakar Sangh for organizing the 71st Annual All India Drama and Dance Competition (AIDDC) in Shimla, describing the event as a significant platform for nurturing artistic talent, promoting cultural exchange, and strengthening national integration.

The Governor made these remarks during a meeting with noted actor and Akhil Bharatiya Kalakar Sangh President Rohitashv Gour and Vice-President Rekha Gour at Raj Bhavan on Saturday.

During the interaction, Rohitashv Gour briefed the Governor about the organization’s activities and shared details about the ongoing 71st Annual All India Drama and Dance Competition, which is being held in Shimla until June 10.

According to Gour, the prestigious national-level cultural event is witnessing participation from thousands of artists representing different parts of the country. A total of 27 theatre groups are scheduled to perform dramatic productions, while nearly 260 dance performances will be showcased during the competition.

The event highlights India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, bringing together performers from various regions and artistic backgrounds under one platform.

Governor Gupta appreciated the organization’s continued commitment to promoting theatre, dance, and traditional cultural values through one of India’s longest-running cultural competitions. He emphasized that art and culture play a crucial role in preserving the country’s heritage, fostering social harmony, and encouraging creativity among young people.

“The arts serve as a powerful medium to connect communities and celebrate the nation’s cultural diversity,” the Governor noted while appreciating the efforts of the organizers.

Expressing confidence in the success of the competition, Governor Gupta said the event would make a meaningful contribution to the growth of performing arts in India and further strengthen the country’s cultural fabric.
