Large number of vehicles arrived in Shimla
Shimla, June 21: Lakhs of tourists from outside states are arriving to spend quality time in hilly states like Himachal Pradesh to get relief from the heatwave.More than 2 lakh 50 thousand tourist vehicles have travelled in the Hill Queen Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, in the last 20 days, due to which the arrival of tourists in large numbers after the shortage of water is frightening.

The traffic system of Shimla city is proving incapable of handling the pressure due to the influx of tourists beyond expectations. The efforts being made by Shimla Police to bring the city’s traffic system back on track are proving to be futile.

SP Shimla Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that a large number of tourists from other states are reaching Shimla to get relief from the heatwave. A total of 8.5 lakh vehicles have entered from 1 to 20 June, out of which the movement of 2.50 lakh tourist vehicles has been recorded.
He said that the roads of Shimla have not been developed as per the requirement and traffic jam is the biggest problem of Shimla city.Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that Shimla Police is trying to bring the traffic system back on track so that tourists face less inconvenience.
