Twenty-seven children, who had come to participate in a sports competition in a Kandaiwala, were also trapped in this incident of cloudburst, who have been evacuated safely. In this incident, forty bighas of fertile land and five vehicles were washed away in the debris.
Appropriate Sumit Khimta said that four animals were also washed away in this incident, while all the children are safe. He has asked the residents of the district to remain alert constantly in view of the heavy rains so that any untoward incident can be avoided.
The Deputy Commissioner said – Around 6.30 pm, it came to our notice from the local revenue authorities that there has most likely been a cloud burst, due to which there is a Kandaiwala in the Panchayat of Burma Papdi. But according to the damage reported so far, about four animals have been washed away. A shop, a tractor and a car have been damaged there.
And in about 30-40 bighas which was our agricultural land, damage has been reported in that too. Rather, there were about twenty-seven children who were there for the block-level tournaments of our education department, so we have taken them to a safe place and made arrangements for their food and drink.
