Sirmaur News : Education Minister Rohit Thakur and Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chouhan today took stock of the damages caused by heavy rains in Sirmaur district and held a meeting with the officials in Nahan to inquire about the damages.

Education Minister and Chairman of the Relief and Rehabilitation Committee, Rohit Thakur said that due to heavy rains in the district, there has been a loss of about two hundred and ninety crore rupees and so far ten crore rupees have been given by the government.

He said – Fifty-one houses have been completely damaged due to heavy rains in Sirmaur district and about a dozen people have lost their lives. In district Sirmaur too, there has been a loss of about two hundred and ninety crore rupees. Whether we talk about roads, Whether we talk about the power sector, whether we talk about the schemes of the water power department, I understand that many of these works have been interrupted, but despite that, the officers and employees of our administration have done a good job.

And at least temporarily, I understand that only twenty-twenty-one of our roads are left, which are still blocked by you. Most of your water scheme, your electricity scheme, almost all our employees are currently working for you. And in the coming time all your papers are being prepared according to the amendments we have made in the relief manual.
