Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 11: A Bolero camper fell into a ditch in Tikkar area of Rohru sub-division of Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla. There were eight people including two children in the Bolero camper. Grandfather and Grandson died in the whole accident. Meanwhile, six others are injured. All the six injured are undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital Rohru. The accident happened in Tikkar area on Sunday afternoon.

According to information received from Rohru police, the Bolero camper number(HP10B -9385) slipped from the road at Charot Kainchi in Pujarli on Sunday afternoon and overturned in a ditch about 150 feet deep. The reason for the accident is said to be the negligence of the Bolero camper driver. On receiving the information, Rohru police reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations.

The deceased in the accident have been identified as Akshat (10) son of Kanshiram and Bahadur Singh (65) son of Baukhal. The deceased are grandfather and grandson. The deceased was a resident of Gajanandali in Tikkar. Akshat’s mother Poonam (33) and five others were injured in the accident. The injured include Satya Devi (55), Seema (30), Seema (10), Geeta (35) and driver Amar Khatri (35).

DSP Rohru Ravindra Negi has confirmed the accident. He said that the bodies have been handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. A case has been registered and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
