Opposition gave notice of no-confidence motion to the secretary against the speaker, demanded resignation
Shimla, September 2: Even before the proceedings of the House started on the fifth day of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly monsoon session, the opposition has given a notice of no-confidence motion to the Assembly Secretary and demanded the resignation of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
On Friday, in the Assembly House, opposition MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal had expressed objection to a statement of the Speaker. In the House, the Speaker was asked to express regret over his statement, due to which there was a lot of uproar in the House.
On the same issue, before the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly House started on Monday, the opposition gave a notice to the secretary under Rule 274 and gave a no-confidence motion against the Speaker and demanded the resignation of the Speaker.
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that the attitude of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly is not right against the opposition in the House. Even outside the House, the Speaker has used many unconstitutional language which will not be tolerated. In such a situation, the opposition’s legislative party held a meeting and gave a no-confidence motion against him.
