Many incubators have been made for newborn babies, but IIT Mandi of Himachal Pradesh has made such an incubator which provides all the facilities together. Besides, all the challenges faced in the care of newborn children have also been resolved. Due to these qualities, it has also been selected for the prestigious Stanford Biodesign Innovators Garage program. Its biggest feature is that it can be operated through an app with smart control facility and remote access from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. It will ensure complete care of newborn babies, as it is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
It has been developed by Dr. Gajendra Singh, Assistant Professor, School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, IIT Mandi, Dr. Satsheel Ramesh Powar, Associate Professor, and Keshav Verma, third year B.Tech., Mechanical Engineering.
It has been designed as a multifunctional neonatal incubator that provides a unique solution to the challenges faced in transporting and providing critical care to newborns. Unlike traditional incubators this device works as both a standalone warmer and an incubator, adapting to the specific needs of each infant.
