In Himachal Pradesh, the demand for not transferring and retiring teachers in the middle of the academic session has started gaining momentum. In order to provide quality education in the schools and colleges of the state, it is expected that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will announce a ban on both these processes in his budget speech. The ongoing process of transfer and retirement throughout the year affects studies in institutions.

In such a situation, the parents are of the opinion that the government can take a major decision regarding this in time. Transfers and retirements of teachers should be done even before the start of the new session.

In state universities, retirement is done only once a year. Decisions on similar lines are expected to be taken in schools and colleges in the upcoming budget session.

Educated unemployed people are waiting for the announcement of new recruitments to fill the vacant posts of teachers in schools and colleges.

Thousands of posts of teachers of various categories are vacant in the schools of the state. Even in colleges, youth who have passed SET and NET are waiting for the recruitment of Assistant Professors.

Shortage of teachers is also a major reason for low enrollment of students in government schools of the state. This reason has also come to light in the survey conducted by the Education Department through various independent agencies. It is also necessary to implement the National Education Policy by providing funding to various schemes from the Central Government.

During the previous government, Himachal Pradesh had claimed to be the first in the country to implement the education policy, but now Himachal Pradesh has lagged behind in implementing the policy seriously.

Although the Himachal Pradesh government has constituted several committees to implement the education policy, no specific work is visible on the ground to implement the policy. The state government should work in this regard.

It has become necessary to fix time for implementing education policy. If the policy is not implemented in time, then the funding of various schemes given by the Government of India in the field of education to the state may also stop.
