HP Govt: Awaiting Permission From Election Commission For TGT Batchwise Recruitment

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 06: Himachal Pradesh Government has sent a letter to the State Public Service Commission to expedite the appointments of TGT in the schools of Himachal. In this, permission has been sought for batch wise recruitment of 1028 TGTs amidst the code of conduct.
Actually, the process of TGT batchwise recruitment had already started in the schools of Himachal Pradesh. But meanwhile, the code of conduct was imposed and even after the results were declared, appointments could not be given. It has been said in the letter that hundreds of posts of teachers are vacant in the schools of Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, children’s education is being affected the most. If permission is granted by the Election Commission, it will directly benefit the students. In such a situation, permission has been sought from the Election Commission in the interest of the students.

Batchwise counseling of TGT was conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Elementary Education Department in the months of October and November last year. On March 27, a meeting of the Screening Committee was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, the Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department and the Education Secretary, in which it was decided that permission for these recruitments should be sought from the Election Commission so that Vacant posts in schools can also be filled as soon as possible.

It should be noted that earlier, appointment orders were issued directly after counselling. 1028 candidates have been selected in the selection list. According to this list, 416 candidates have been selected in TGT Arts, 300 in Non-Medical and 169 in Medical. A total of 39 people have been selected in Ward of Ex-Servicemen, including 20 in non-medical and 19 in medical. Apart from this, 44 candidates have been selected from sports quota and 55 candidates have been selected from ex-servicemen quota. In this way, names of total 1023 candidates are in the selection list.
