Today’s weather in Himachal Pradesh presents a varied picture, with partly cloudy skies and occasional light rain expected in some areas, while heatwaves pose a threat in others. Over the past 24 hours, the region has experienced mostly dry conditions, though scattered showers and isolated rain and snow were reported in the middle and high hills. Temperatures have remained below normal, with significant differences between the coldest and hottest spots. The Lahaul and Spiti region enjoys clear weather, facilitating travel, although certain roads remain closed or require caution. This comprehensive weather overview highlights the diverse climatic conditions affecting different parts of Himachal Pradesh today.

Today’s weather in Himachal Pradesh is a mix of partly cloudy skies and light rain in some areas. Heatwaves are expected in isolated pockets in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan, Sirmaur, and Mandi, with a yellow alert issued for these districts. There might be light rain in parts of Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, and Kangra.

In the past 24 hours, most of Himachal Pradesh has been dry. The lower hills, like Kangra, Hamirpur, Una, Bilaspur, and parts of Mandi, Solan, and Sirmaur, had no rain, but they might get some tomorrow. The middle hills, including Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, and Mandi, saw some scattered showers. The high hills, such as Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, and Kullu, had isolated rain and snow, and this may continue tomorrow. Temperatures have been stable, with both daytime and nighttime readings below normal. Kukumseri was the coldest place at 5.4°C, and Una was the hottest at 44.2°C. Hail was reported in several areas including Dharamsala, Sundarnagar, Bhuntar, Una, Solan, Palampur, Gaggal, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur.

No significant snowfall was recorded today, but Khadrala received 3.0mm of rain and Nichar had some rain too.

Keylong is the coolest spot in Himachal today at 18.3°C with a high chance of rain at 99%. Kufri is warmer at 21°C with a 41% chance of rain. Shimla is at 26.2°C with a 30% chance of rain. Chamba and Sundernagar are quite warm, with Chamba at 34.9°C and Sundernagar at 34.2°C, and both have a moderate chance of rain. Kangra is the hottest at 38°C but has only a 1% chance of rain.

In the Lahaul and Spiti regions, the weather is clear with no snow at any key stations like Keylong, Kaza, Sumdo, Udaipur, Tindi, Sissu, and the North and South Portals. Roads are mostly open and travel conditions are good. However, the road from Losar to Gramphu is closed, and the stretch from Darcha to Shinkula and Sarchu is open but should be followed according to the latest advisories.
