Talking about Lahaul Spiti district, former minister Dr. Ramlal Markanda has left BJP and has now entered the field for election campaign. Dr. Ramlal Markanda has not joined any party at present, but it is being told that he will join the Congress party within the next two days. In such a situation, while BJP will suffer losses, there is a lot of turmoil in the Congress party too.

Dr. Ramlal Markanda has worked a lot towards strengthening BJP in Lahaul Spiti district, but suddenly after giving assembly ticket to suspended Congress MLA Ravi Thakur, he has become a rebel and sitting with his workers, Ramlal Markanda is discussing the upcoming strategy. Former minister Dr. Ramlal Markanda had contested his first election in the year 1998 through Himachal Vikas Congress Party and won. After that, in the year 2003 also he contested elections from Himachal Vikas Congress Party, but he lost that time.
After this, Dr. Ramlal Markanda contested the 2007 elections from BJP and won. Whereas in the year 2012, Dr. Ramlal Markanda lost to Congress candidate Ravi Thakur. After this, in the 2017 elections, Dr. Ramlal Markanda won on BJP ticket and in the 2022 assembly elections, he lost to Congress’s Ravi Thakur. Now in just one and a half years, by-elections are being held once again in Lahaul Spiti and Dr. Ramlal Markanda has also announced to contest the elections in any cost.
In the 2022 elections, Dr. Ramlal Markanda was defeated in Lahaul Spiti assembly seat by a margin of only 1200 votes and Ravi Thakur from Congress won by taking 9948 votes. Dr. Ramlal Markanda got 8332 votes. In such a situation, Markanda was defeated by only a few votes.
Now it remains to be seen how Dr. Ramlal converts this defeat into victory and how much Congress will benefit from his contesting the elections, because if we talk about Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Ramlal Markanda, who rebelled against the BJP, is considered a strong candidate And BJP will have to bear the direct loss due to this.

Lahaul Spiti is a tribal area and the vote bank of Congress and BJP is quite high here. If Dr. Ramlal Markanda joins Congress, it will cause significant loss to BJP. Apart from this, Congress workers are also expressing their anger that Ramlal Markanda should not be included in the Congress party. Now it remains to be seen how Congress convinces its workers and how much loss BJP will have to suffer due to Dr. Ramlal Markanda contesting the elections.
