Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Mandi, April 03: For admission to Sardar Patel University Mandi, a separate entrance examination will have to be given. Taking a step towards self-reliance after two years of its formation, SPU has decided to conduct all the entrance examinations itself from this academic session.
Pro Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, Professor Anupama Singh said that earlier admission in Sardar Patel University was available only on the basis of merit list of Himachal Pradesh University. Sardar Patel University did not have the provision to conduct entrance examinations due to limited resources. But now the management has decided to conduct these examinations on its own resources this time.

Professor Anupama Singh said that there are 18 B.Ed colleges affiliated with Sardar Patel University in which there are about two thousand seats. Apart from this, there is a provision for admission in other courses including 120 seats in Science in PG course, 60 seats in MBA and 45 seats in MCA. Professor Anupama Singh said that Sardar Patel University has limited resources, but still efforts are being made to do better work. All types of facilities for the students are being taken care of by the management.

Formation Of Committee To Conduct Entrance Examinations –
For the smooth conduct of the entrance examinations, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of E. Sunil Verma. Apart from the Controller of Examinations, various Deans, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars, Superintendents and Senior Assistants are included in this committee, which will take all decisions related to the conduct of entrance examinations and admissions in SPU Mandi Campus and its affiliated colleges.
