Congress MLA Rajinder Rana, who cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, has said that the MLAs are not angry with the Congress. If the Chief Minister is changed then all the MLAs will return.
Rajinder Rana has given this information to Congress National General Secretary Organization KC Venugopal and party in-charge Rajiv Shukla. Rajinder Rana said that the top leadership of the party has been informed about the displeasure. Now the party itself has to take the future decision.
On the other hand, sources said that the angry Congress MLAs have also told the party high command to resign from the party if their demand is not met.
Let us tell you, the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh has suffered a setback.
Harsh Mahajan has been elected Rajya Sabha member through cross voting. Out of total 68 MLAs, 34 MLAs voted for Congress and 34 for BJP. After the counting of votes started at 5:00 pm, the result remained stuck till late evening after there were 34-34 votes. At around 7:45 pm, BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan was declared victorious through the slip system.
Congress candidate central leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi lost this election. It should be noted that this one seat of Rajya Sabha in Himachal Pradesh had become vacant after the completion of the tenure of BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda as Rajya Sabha MP.
