According to the Meteorological Centre at Shimla, In the upcoming 48 hours the area of Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaour, Solan, and Una there is a probability of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorm along with gusty winds of 30-40 kph.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over the state accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and hail at isolated places from the late evening of 26th April 2024 till the morning of 30th April 2024 with peak intensity on 27th April 2024. The weather will be worse from today, according to the Meteorological Centre at Shimla. Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty wind of 30 -40 kmph will occur at isolated places in the summer capital Shimla. In catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh like Satluj and Beas light to moderate precipitation accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty wind of 30-40 kmph is likely to occur. And in the catchment area Ranjit Sagar light precipitation is likely to occur at isolated places. and according to the Meteorological Centre Shimla light to moderate precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms, lighting, and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at many places in the districts of Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, and Kangra whereas, at most places in the districts of Lahaul- Spiti, Kinnaur, and Chamba. And Meteorological Centre at Shimla said there is a possibility of hail at isolated places in the districts of Mandi ( Jogindernagar, Pandoh, Mandi), Kullu ( Bhuntar), Shimla ( Narkanda, Shilaroo, Kotkhai), Solan ( Parwanoo ), Sirmour ( Rajgrah ) and adjoining areas. And in the remaining districts of the state light precipitation is likely to occur.

In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain/snow occurred at many places over the state. Within this period, The area of lower Hills like districts Kangra, Hamirpur, Una, Bilaspur, and the lower part of Mandi, Solan, and Sirmour recorded rainfall along with thunderstorms at many places, and tomorrow this will continue. In the area of the Middle Hills like some parts of Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, and Mandi same weather as the lower hills of Himachal Pradesh prevails. Tomorrow as well the weather will be bad as per the meteorological center Shimla. Whereas, in areas of High Hills like Kinnaur, Lahaul, and Spiti, and some parts of Chamba and Kullu rainfall and snowfall along thunderstorms are recorded at many places, which is the same as the weather of lower and middle hills of Himachal Pradesh. And tomorrow this will continue as usual. Today the minimum temperatures fell appreciably for mid and high-hills areas and rose appreciably for low hills and plain areas, Minimum temperatures were below normal for mid and high-hills areas and above normal for the lower hills and plain areas. there is no large change in minimum and maximum temperature today. The average minimum temperatures and maximum temperatures were normal. Today the lowest temperature was recorded at Keylong = -0.3 degrees Celsius. Which is lower than yesterday’s lowest temperature. and yesterday, the Maximum temperature was recorded at Una =40 Degrees Celsius. A Western cyclonic disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from today.

According to the Ministry of Earth Science and Meteorological Department of India. Today the chief amount of snowfall is traced in three areas that are Goodla ( 8cm ), Keylong ( 2cm ), Hansa ( 2.5cm ), and Kukumaseri ( 1.2cm ). and rainfall is traced in many areas. Among these Kothi received 28mm of rainfall which is the highest for the day. and in Gohar and Jogindernagar 5mm of rainfall is recorded which is the lowest for the day. Besides these areas, various areas received the chief amount of rainfall today are Tissa ( 21mm ), Manali ( 19mm ), Bharmaur ( 16mm ), Saloni ( 14mm ), Kukumaseri ( 13mm ), Chhatari, Kataula, and Dalhousie ( 10mm for each ), Palampur and Kheri ( 8mm each ), Seobagh ( 7mm ), Kalpa (  7mm ), Keylong, Bhutan & Banjar ( 6mm each).

According to the Ministry of Earth Science and Meteorological Department at Shimla Current Weather over the major cities of Himachal Pradesh is Keylong has the Coolest temperature among the major cities at 1.7 Degrees Celsius, accompanied by a high chance of rain at 99%. Following Keylong, Kufri offers a Slightly warmer climate at 14.5 Degrees Celsius with a 44% chance of precipitation. Moving on to Shimla, the temperature rises to 22.4 Degrees Celsius with a 65% chance of rain. Chamba and Sundernagar both experience warmer temperatures, with Chamba at 15.1 Degrees Celsius and a 100% chance of rain, while Sundernagar records 25.8 Degrees Celsius with a slightly higher chance of rain at 52%. Lastly, Kangra tops the temperature chart at 23.7 Degrees Celsius, but it has the lowest chance of rain among the cities at just 1%.
