The central government will issue two commemorative coins of Rs 100 and Rs 75 to mark India’s G20 chairmanship. It shall bear the word Bharat in Devanagari script on the left side and the word India in English on the right side. The center of the reverse side of the coin will have the design of the logo of the G20 Presidency of India. These features will also be on the Rs 75 coin.

The central government will issue two commemorative coins of Rs 100 and Rs 75 to mark India’s G20 chairmanship. It shall bear the word Bharat in Devanagari script on the left side and the word India in English on the right side. The center of the reverse side of the coin will have the design of the logo of the G20 Presidency of India. These features will also be on the Rs 75 coin.

The central government will issue two commemorative coins of Rs 100 and Rs 75 to mark India’s G20 chairmanship. According to a gazette notification issued on July 24, the Rs 100 commemorative coin will bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center and Satyamev Jayate in Devanagari on the reverse.

Know what will be written on both sides of the coin

It shall bear on the left side the word ‘Bharat’ in Devanagari script and on the right side the word ‘India’ in English. The center of the reverse of the coin will bear the design of the logo of the G20 Presidency of India and the inscription ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ in Devanagari script on the upper periphery of the coin will bear the words ‘Vasudheva Kutumbakam’. According to the notification, the lower periphery of the coin will have English written on it.

These features will also be on the Rs 75 coin. The standard weight of both the coins will be 35-35 grams and their diameter will be 44 mm. India’s G20 presidency is from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023. The G20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed and developing economies.

The leaders’ summit, under the chairmanship of India, is scheduled to be held on 9 and 10 September. Commemorative coins are usually issued by a government to mark a special occasion. India chairing the G20.
