Due to heavy rains in Bilaspur district, government wildlife property worth about thirty nine crore rupees has been damaged, while one person has lost his life.
Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq said that 42 projects of the Public Works Department and 82 projects of the Power Department, 94 electric poles and DTRs of the Electricity Department have been affected due to the heavy rains in the district.
Apart from this, the Agriculture Department has also suffered heavy losses. The Deputy Commissioner said that the work of restoring normal life in the district is going on on a war footing.
He said – there has been a lot of rain in our district and this time it has rained thirty times more than normal. As of today, 21 unique roads are closed which we are trying to open by evening and I am sure that by evening Till then we will open all the roads. Our 82 schemes of Jal Shakti Department which have been affected, work is going on since morning because the weather has improved today and we hope that they will be fine in two-three days.
But together we have not allowed any water crisis to happen anywhere. We are providing water to the people from alternate sources. Our 40 DTRs are closed as of today; Forty are left which is what we are till 5 pm and thus we are trying to bring life back to normal in the district
