The number of brown bears is continuously increasing in many villages of the areas situated on the left bank of Chandrabhaga river in Luhaul-Spiti district.

These bears are roaming fearlessly in the fields in broad daylight and damaging the crops of the farmers. The growing number of these gray hairs also poses a threat to the local people.

The local people have demanded from the Forest Department to get rid of the terror of these brown bears roaming fearlessly, so that apart from damage to the crops, people can also be saved from their attacks in time.

A resident said – The number of bears has increased in the left wing villages, Nala, Sajju, Ganga Singh. Bears are harming the crops even before the crops are ready.

Also, now it is difficult for people to go to the farm. Bears can attack anytime. They demand punishment from the forest department and administration for terrorizing bears.
