Nirmala Sitharaman reaches Washington to attend 2023 Spring Meetings of World Bank, IMF.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reached Washington DC from New York in the early hours of Monday (Indian time). On reaching Washington DC, he was received by the Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu. Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the spring meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund and other G20 meetings in Washington DC.
Earlier, Nirmala Sitharaman reached JFK International Airport in New York. Here he was received by Consul General of India Randhir Jaiwal. On Saturday, the Finance Ministry issued a statement saying that Finance Minister Sitharaman will host the G20 meeting and attend the World Bank Group (WBG), International Monetary Fund (IMF) meetings. Sitharaman will be on a week-long US visit from April 10-16.
During this, she will jointly host the second meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors on April 12-13, along with Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das. Presently India is the chair of G20. She will also host some other meetings related to the G20.
Also in Washington she will attend some bilateral meetings and investment sessions as well as other related meetings. She will attend the plenary meeting of the World Bank Development Committee and the IMF Committee. He is accompanied by a team of officials from the Ministry of Finance.
He will also meet economists, entrepreneurs, think tanks and investors from across the world during the visit. She will also meet people from the Indian community.
