Congress Protests Over Alleged Ram Temple Donation Irregularities, Demands Fair Probe

The Congress launched a protest on Saturday against the BJP over allegations of irregularities in donations collected for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, demanding a transparent investigation and strict action against anyone found guilty.

The demonstration was led by District Congress in-charge Chandra Prabha Negi and District Congress President Des Raj Gautam. Party workers marched from the Rest House to the Bus Stand before returning to the starting point, raising slogans against the BJP and calling for accountability. During the protest, Congress workers also sang devotional hymns dedicated to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.

Addressing the media after the demonstration, Negi alleged that the BJP had sought public support in the name of the Ram Temple but was now facing allegations regarding the handling of donations contributed by millions of devotees. She claimed that the reported irregularities had hurt the religious sentiments of people and stressed that a fair investigation was necessary to establish the truth.

Negi further said that the Congress would continue its campaign through public outreach programmes and devotional gatherings until those responsible were brought to justice. She also criticised the BJP, referring to it as the “Chanda Chor Party,” while alleging that several cases of financial irregularities linked to the party were gradually coming to light.

The protest adds to the ongoing political debate surrounding the allegations related to Ram Temple donations, with the Congress demanding transparency and accountability in the matter. The BJP has not issued an official response to the allegations mentioned during the protest.
