Himachal Pradesh Remembers Virbhadra Singh on 93rd Birth Anniversary, Governor and CM Sukhu Pay Emotional Tributes
Himachal Pradesh came together to remember one of its most influential leaders, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, on his 93rd birth anniversary. Governor Kavinder Gupta and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led the tributes, recalling his remarkable journey in public service and his historic contribution to the growth of the hill state.
Himachal Pradesh came together to remember one of its most influential leaders, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, on his 93rd birth anniversary. Governor Kavinder Gupta and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led the tributes, recalling his remarkable journey in public service and his historic contribution to the growth of the hill state.
Several prominent leaders, including Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Vinay Kumar, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, and former HPCC chief Pratibha Singh, also paid their respects and remembered Virbhadra Singh’s decades-long commitment to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sukhu said that Virbhadra Singh played a transformational role in shaping modern Himachal Pradesh. He added that his dedication to development and public welfare should inspire everyone to continue working for the progress of the state.
Governor Kavinder Gupta described Virbhadra Singh as a visionary leader whose policies and strong leadership laid the foundation for Himachal Pradesh’s journey as one of India’s most developed hill states. He said that the former Chief Minister’s commitment to public service and his people-centric approach would continue to inspire future generations.
The Governor also highlighted that Virbhadra Singh’s long tenure as Chief Minister gave a new direction to the state’s development. He said that the best way to honour the late leader is to follow his ideals of honesty, dedication, and service towards society.
Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that Himachal Pradesh was fortunate to have Virbhadra Singh at the helm for nearly 22 years, during which the state witnessed significant progress in various sectors.
To commemorate the 93rd birth anniversary of the veteran leader, a special boxing event was also organised in Shimla on Tuesday evening, attracting participation from sports enthusiasts and local residents.
