In a major relief for thousands of retired workers and their families, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced the release of the remaining 30% gratuity and leave encashment arrears for Class-IV employees.
The decision comes following direct instructions from Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, reinforcing the state’s commitment to clearing long-pending employee dues.
According to official sources, this final installment will benefit employees who either retired or passed away while in service between January 1, 2016, and January 31, 2022. With this move, the government aims to bring closure to a prolonged wait faced by many beneficiaries.
An official spokesperson confirmed that the government has already released multiple installments in the past, including interim relief payments and 12 installments of dearness allowance (DA) on basic pension and family pension. These earlier payments may be adjusted against any pending pension arrears.
Importantly, pension disbursing authorities across the state have now been directed to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their complete dues without delay. Once this final payment is processed, all gratuity and leave encashment arrears will stand fully cleared, reducing the outstanding balance to zero.
This decision is expected to provide significant financial relief and peace of mind to retired employees and families who have been waiting for their rightful payments.
