Students Detained After Roadside Clash Turns Into Gunfire on Ochghat–Sultanpur Road in Solan
Students were detained in Solan after a roadside argument escalated into gunfire when one student flashed a pistol and another fired shots into the air. Police have seized the weapon and launched an investigation.
Several students were detained on Thursday after an argument between two university students on the Ochghat–Sultanpur Road in Solan escalated into gunfire, police said.
According to Solan SP Gaurav Singh, the incident began when a student from Haryana allegedly pulled out a pistol during a heated exchange with another student in an attempt to intimidate him. The situation spiralled unexpectedly when the second student managed to snatch the weapon and fired multiple rounds into the air before bystanders intervened.
Police reached the spot immediately after receiving the alert and took several boys, including the two involved, into custody. The pistol used in the incident has been seized, and an investigation is underway.
A video of the confrontation has gone viral, prompting concern among residents about student-related violence in the area.
