Shimla, April 24 – Widespread anger continues across the country in the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In protest, demonstrations and tributes were held nationwide to honor the victims. In Himachal Pradesh, the state’s trade association observed a partial shutdown of shops on Thursday as a mark of respect and condemnation.

Security has also been tightened along the Himachal border following the incident.

Inderjit Singh, Vice President of the Himachal Pradesh Vyapar Mandal (Trade Association), strongly condemned the attack, calling it a heinous act that has shaken the entire nation. “The trading community stands in solidarity with the bereaved families in this hour of grief,” he said.

As a symbolic gesture of mourning and protest, the association announced a statewide market closure until 12:00 noon on Thursday.

Inderjit Singh also urged the central government to take decisive action. “We appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respond firmly and ensure that such attacks do not go unpunished,” he said.
