Mandi, April 6: In a powerful statement at the prize distribution ceremony and health awareness program after the marathon organized against drugs at Seri Manch in Mandi, Mandi Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut expressed her concerns about the growing drug menace in Himachal Pradesh. She stated, “While Himachal is gripped by diseases like diabetes and cholesterol, now the disease of drugs is also hollowing out the state like termites.”

Kangana, who has consistently used her platform to address social issues, spoke passionately about the devastating effects of drug abuse on the youth of the state. She urged young people to stay away from drugs and lead a healthier lifestyle. “Drugs are ruining the future of the youth. It’s time for the youth to channel their energy in a positive direction,” she said.

During her speech, Kangana also highlighted the importance of yoga and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving international recognition to the practice. She emphasized that yoga not only promotes physical health but also offers mental strength, urging the youth to adopt it as a way of life.

Kangana congratulated the team of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College and Hospital Management and Global Association of Medical Students for organizing the marathon against drug addiction. She also honored the top participants of the marathon during the ceremony.

The marathon, which began at Nerchowk Medical College and culminated at Chakkar, saw active participation from doctors and medical trainees. The main goal of the initiative was to inspire the youth to stay away from drugs and adopt healthier habits. Dr. Himanshi Kapoor, State President of the Global Association of Medical Students, shared that the event was aimed at raising awareness and providing a platform for young people to join the fight against drug abuse.

In her concluding remarks, Kangana appealed to the youth to recognize their passions and direct their energy towards pursuits that would define them in a positive way. “When you find your passion, every negative thing fades away,” she said.

The marathon has now emerged as a strong social movement against drug addiction in Himachal Pradesh, offering a new direction to the youth of the state.
