Shimla- Clear sky and gentle temperatures prevail, offering an attractive day for outdoor adventures across Himachal Pradesh. Except gentle breezes and comfortable conditions throughout the region, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Himalayas. The area of Middle Hills faces light rain and High Hills faces light Rain along with snowfall. But there is no large change in the minimum and maximum temperature during the last 24 hours. The average minimum temperature was below normal whereas, the maximum temperature was normal. Today the lowest temperature was recorded at Keylong -1.4 degrees Celcius and the highest temperature was recorded at Una 35.4 degrees Celcius.

According to the Shimla police, Due to snowfall in the upper areas of Shimla District, the following roads are closed and Slippery; Theog-Chaupal Road at Khidki, Theog-Rampur Road near Narkanda, Rohru-Rampur Road near Sungri, Rohru-Dodra Kawar Road near Chanshal, Shimla-Theog Road is slippery near Kurfi-Galu-Fagu, Theog- Rohru road is slippery near Kharapaththar. So that we are careful while traveling from this area. Shimla police request you to drive vehicles carefully and travel through safe alternative routes. In case of any emergency, you can contact 1077 (DDMA) or the police helpline- 01772812344, 112 or the nearest police station having jurisdiction.

According to Lahaul & Spiti Police, Today’s Weather and Road Status are:-

ATR North Portal to Darcha is Open, Darcha to Sarchu is Closed, Darcha to Shinkula road is open, SKTT Road Tandi to Kurched is Open, Kurched to Kadhu Nullah is closed, Sumdo to Lossar is Open, Gramphu to Lossar is Closed.

Kunzum Pass Route Restored And Reopened By The End of April –

The Kunzum pass route which links Lahaul-Spiti to Spiti Valley is set to undergo restoration and reopened by the final week of April. Rahul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner announces that efforts are underway to restore the Kunzum pass route by the final week of April. Additionally, he mentioned that the Shinkula pass has already been reopened for light vehicles. Lahaul-Spiti District Election Officer along with deputy commissioner Rahul Kumar said that the work of opening the Kunzum pass is expedient. For this process team of 944 RCC and 108 RCC (Reinforced Concrete Concrete) of Border Roads Organization ( BRO ) are engaged.

At present, only light four-by-four vehicles are being opened for movement on this pass from 10th April 2024 from the Darcha police Check post of Lahaul from 07:00 am to 11:00 am. There will be alternative arrangements for vehicular movement on this pass. On 11th April, vehicles will enter Lahaul from Padam Zanskar. For this, personnel of the Lahaul Spiti district police department have been deployed at the Darcha police check post for systematic traffic management. The Deputy Commissioner said that this route is very important for the locals of Lahaul and tourists of Kargil, Padum and Zanskar.

The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the officers of 126 RCC of Border Road Organisation and teams for restoring the route. He said that a team of 70 RCC of BRO is engaged in the work of removing snow. It is expected that the route will be restored for light vehicles by 15 April 2024.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar also said that because of the by-elections of Lok Sabha and Assembly, due to the Model code of conduct, the border of Lahaul shares with the inner state border of Kargil and Leh. District police blocks are also being set up on these routes and strict monitoring is being done through police patrolling.

● Shimla: Generally Cloudy sky with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.

● Satluj: Possibility of light rain along with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places.

● Beas: Light rain likely to occur in an isolated area.

● Light precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in the districts of Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti, Kangra ( except Nurpur area), Shimla, and Kullu and adjoining states.

●Possibility of light precipitation at isolated places in the districts of Mandi, Kinnaur, and Sirmaur.

●No significant weather is seen in the remaining state.

● Kufri: 14.2 Degree Celsius with 43% chance of precipitation.

● Keylong: 8.9 Degree Celsius with 99% chance of precipitation.
