Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Dharamshala, April 08: Once again an accident has occurred during paragliding at the world famous paragliding site Bir Billing. A female pilot flying here died after falling. The deceased woman was a resident of Noida.

According to the information received, the husband of the deceased woman is serving as Wing Commander in the Indian Air Force. The couple has been coming to Bir for the last several years and enjoying paragliding. The deceased pilot has been identified as Ritu Chopra, wife of Ashutosh Chopra, resident of G-34 Sector-25 Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The couple took off in separate paragliders on Sunday afternoon. But shortly after take-off, the woman lost control of the paraglider and fell on a hill adjacent to a village called Sansal. The husband saw the woman falling.

The husband immediately landed and informed the Baijnath police, administration and his colleagues from the Indian Air Force. After some time the Air Force helicopter reached there. After which a rescue operation was carried out and the woman was taken out of the hill and taken to the hospital. Doctors declared the woman dead in the hospital. On the other hand, Kangra ASP Bir Bahadur has confirmed the matter.
