HRTC is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year on completion of 50 years. To showcase the memorable and struggle journey of 50 years, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) is going to set up HRTC Bus Museum in Shimla MD office, which will include models of HRTC buses till date, old tickets, old photographs of HRTC buses and The spare parts will be displayed. This museum will be a center of attraction for the local people as well as tourists.

Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Board, MD Rohan Chand Thakur said that HRTC is celebrating 50 years of its establishment as a golden jubilee festival. Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has organized a video and photo competition of HRTC buses. Models of every type of HRTC buses included in the fleet of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation from 1974 to 2024 will be displayed in the museum. Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has started making models of buses. Models of 6 types of HRTC buses have been ready. Work on other models is ongoing. In the HRTC Bus Museum, a model of the journey from the beginning of HRTC bus service in Himachal Pradesh to the operation of electric buses will be shown.

Meanwhile, HRTC MD Rohan Chand Thakur said that HRTC will make all its 31 units cashless in Himachal Pradesh by May 30. In the first phase, Shimla local HRTC buses have been made cashless and Volvo buses have also been made cashless. In the second phase, the target is to make Nahan, Solan, Palampur, Sundernagar, Hamirpur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Dharamshala, Sarkaghat, Una, Baijnath, Dharampur units cashless by April 30, while other units will be made cashless by May 31. After this, HRTC has planned to launch NCMC card also.
