Solan Police Action on Interstate Bike Theft Gang

In which the police have arrested two accused belonging to Heera Bike Gang of bike theft. SP Solan Gaurav Singh said that in the case of bike theft registered in Police Station Sadar on February 1, the police have arrested two accused of Nepali origin from Kala Amb of Sirmour district. The accused have been identified as Gopal Bahadur and Rajeev Magar. Both these accused belong to Heera Bike Gang which steals bikes. The accused have been taken on police remand for four days.

SP Solan Gaurav Singh told that the accused used to steal bikes from Solan-Sirmour districts and reach Nepal through secret routes and sell the stolen bikes there. These accused have stolen bikes in Parwanoo, Dharampur and Solan areas of Solan district. Till now investigation has found involvement of these accused in about 15 bike thefts. Apart from Himachal, these accused have committed incidents of bike theft in other states also. Many members of this gang are still absconding. The theft cases and criminal records registered against them are being ascertained.

SP Solan Gaurav Singh said that on February 1, Neeraj Negi, a resident of Solan, had complained to the police that he had parked his bike near Shamti bypass, but the next day his bike was not present there. He had expressed apprehension that some vicious person had stolen his bike. After which the police investigated the case and recorded the statements of many witnesses and examined the CCTV footage, after which the police got this success. He said that Solan Police has busted an inter-state gang of bike theft and more people are expected to be arrested in the coming days.
