Samples of 46 medicines from across the country, including 14 from Himachal Pradesh, made in the month of January have failed. Among the 14 medicines of Himachal Pradesh whose samples have failed, three from Sirmour district, one from Kangra district and 10 from Solan district have failed.
In the drug alert of the month of January, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization has found these medicines not up to the standards.
These medicines include medicines for skin infections, bacterial infections, appetite enhancers, allergies, irregular uterine bleeding, anemia, acidity allergies, sugar and pain medicines.
In the month of January, a total of 932 drug samples were taken in the country, out of which 886 passed and 46 drug samples failed.
Among the 14 medicines whose samples have failed in Himachal Pradesh, Clindamicin, a medicine for skin infections manufactured by Sunvet Healthcare Company of Paonta Sahib, Amikacin Selvemat, a medicine for bacterial infections, Cyproheptadine tricholine citrate, a medicine to increase appetite of Aquino Pharmaceutical Company of Lodhi Majra, Baddi, Allergy medicine Moxifloxacin of Paonta’s G Laboratory Company, Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid for Irregular Uterine Bleeding from DM Pharma Company of Baddi, Anemia medicine Folic Acid of Ang Pharma Company of Malku Majra, Pantaprazole of Acidity of Halero Lab Company, Hiller Lab’s allergy medicine Levcitrazine, Magnatech company’s sugar medicine Glimopride, Metformin Pioglitalone, Pantaprozole, the acidity medicine of Shri Ram Health Care Company based in Jharmajri, Allergy medicine Montelukast Lyocitrazine of Barotiwala-based Forego Pharmaceutical Company, Montelukast, skin allergy medicine of ASPO Company located at Bhatoli Kalan, Baddi, Samples of allergy medicine Leocitradin of Rachil Pharma Company of Kangra district and pain medicine Diclofenac of Ang Life Science Company based in Malku Majra of Baddi have failed.
Show cause notices will be issued to pharmaceutical industries whose samples have failed and their stocks will be recalled from the market. The department itself will examine these samples.
