Ashish Sharma, who hails from Panjgai area of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, has been promoted to the important post of DIG in the Coast Guard. Coast Guard Ashish Sharma has become the first youth from the entire Bilaspur district to reach the post of DIG, who has achieved the important post of DIG on the basis of his ability.

Ashish Sharma, who hails from Panjgai area of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, has been promoted to the post of DIG in the Coast Guard. Coast Guard Ashish Sharma has become the first youth from the entire Bilaspur district to reach the post of DIG, who has achieved the important post of DIG on the basis of his ability.
DIG Ashish Sharma’s primary education was completed in Panjgai area only. DIG Ashish Sharma completed his studies from Sainik School Sujanpur after receiving primary education from Panjgai area. After completing his graduation from Bilaspur College, DIG Ashish Sharma was posted as a commissioned officer in the Indian Coast Guard in the year 2003.

DIG Ashish Sharma’s father late Hansraj Sharma had retired from Himachal Pradesh School Education Department. DIG Ashish Sharma’s elder brother Amit Sharma is also posted as Colonel in the Indian Army.
Along with his training in the Coast Guard, DIG Ashish Sharma had also obtained two post-graduate degrees.
During his twenty years of government service, DIG Ashish Sharma has also commanded C-135, AYUSH and Vaibhav ships. DIG Ashish Sharma has also served at the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi for three and a half years.
DIG Ashish Sharma along with his mother Mrs. Sunita Sharma, his wife Shiney and entire family members is currently living in the state of Tamil Nadu.
