As soon as the flames took a fierce form, the fire became more dangerous due to the paint and turpentine oil kept in the entire multi-storey Thakur Hardware shop. The fire quickly took on a fierce form and engulfed the entire multi-storey building, creating a situation of devastation. As soon as the information about the incident of complete fire was received, Shimla District Fire Department personnel and Shimla District Police Administration teams reached the spot and started the work of extinguishing the entire fire at a fast pace. As the cause of the entire fire incident is not known at present, investigation teams have also been deployed on the spot. All efforts are being made by Shimla District Fire Department personnel to control the fire.
Due to the increasing flames in the Thakur Hardware shop, all the efforts of the Shimla District Fire Department have proved unsuccessful, due to which the entire fire incident has not been controlled yet. For one hour continuously, the flames have been raging in all four floors of the multi-storey building. Due to which, extinguishing the fire is no less than a challenge for the fire brigade personnel due to the fire breaking out in all the nearby multi-storey buildings and also in hardware shops and stores. Additional fire personnel and vehicles have also been dispatched from all the regional fire stations in and around Chirgaon to control the rapidly increasing fire. On the other hand, DSP Rohru Ravindra Negi told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that a four-storey building was reduced to ashes due to the massive fire. All efforts have been made by the fire brigade personnel to save the multi-storey buildings of Chirgaon and surrounding areas from fire.
