Himachal News : Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh has said that the government is serious about the damage caused by heavy rains in the state and relief and rehabilitation work is going on in full swing.

While interacting with the media in Nahan today, he said that the state is passing through a difficult phase and for the last one month, a period of calamities is continuing. He said that in the first phase of the calamity, Kullu and Mandi had suffered huge losses.

And now heavy rains for the last two-three days are causing huge damage in Sirmaur, Shimla and Solan districts. Vikramaditya Singh told that despite limited resources, the government has fully opened its coffers and the Chief Minister has started public works. An amount of thirty crore rupees has been released to the department yesterday so that the reconstruction work of the roads can be speeded up.

In today’s time, we are going through a very difficult phase. The manner in which flood disasters have been going on in the entire state for the last almost one month, first its outbreak started in Mandi in district Kullu and second It caused a lot of damage in Shimla district and Sirmaur district in Charan.

Our roads were washed away, our bridges were washed away. The crops of our gardeners were washed away, their fields were washed away, their gardens were washed away. This is very sad. The Chief Minister is giving full cooperation for this. Our resources are limited but despite that The coffers of the government have been opened in full.

Just yesterday, the Chief Minister has given an additional thirty crore rupees to the Public Works Department so that the rehabilitation works in the state can be done with full force.

Vikramaditya Singh said that the state has suffered a loss of up to Rs 10,000 crore so far. He said that even though the state has received some money from the Center in the form of a disaster, but according to the requirement, proper help has not yet been received. .

The scale of loss is in the range of about 5000 crore to 10000 crore within the state. The Chief Minister has requested the Prime Minister to contribute, support and cooperate with Himachal in this difficult time. Some money has also come, but as much as it should have come, there is still a shortage. For that we will further request that full cooperation be given.
