Kullu News : Five houses were damaged in the flood after a cloudburst in Gadsa valley of Kullu district
Five houses have been damaged while 15 houses have been partially damaged in the flood that occurred after a cloudburst in the early hours today in Gadsa valley of Kullu district.
Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Kar told that the foot bridge built on the Gadsa Khat has also been washed away and the communication between the villages has been cut off. Bhuntar, Gadsa, Maniyar road has also been damaged at many places. Apart from this, there is information about many cattle being washed away in the flood.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a team of the Revenue Department has been sent to the spot to take stock of the damage caused by the flood. An immediate relief of Rs one lakh has been provided to the affected families by the administration.
MLA Surendra Shourie visited the incident site and met the affected families. The MLA said – A lot of damage has happened in this rain, it has happened in this rain. Just two days back, we had contacted every village in the Gadsa valley.
Lots of houses around seventy eighty houses inside this area which are completely damaged in this rainy season where people have left those houses and also many houses have cracks, lots of soil erosion happened in the area 1500 families have been shifted in the area which is a little further.
Many such incidents have happened here, but due to the rescue work, we are fully engaged and all the people, the entire administration are engaged in providing maximum facilities to the people.
The Deputy Commissioner said – As far as the affected families are concerned, as we said earlier, there are more than two thousand such families who have been affected, there are about eleven hundred plus families whose houses are partially or severely damaged. There are about five hundred such families. Whose houses were completely damaged and there are some other families whose shops or other things related to commercial establishments, dhabas or any other livelihood have been affected.
So the relief amount of six crores has been distributed by the administration so far and we have reached the maximum number of people who have complete damage and they have been given more immediate relief. Such people who have partial damage. Their assessment is still going on and work is being done on that to provide this relief amount to them soon.
