US President Donald Trump has pushed back against recent remarks linked to Chinese President Xi Jinping about the United States being a “declining nation,” claiming the comments were actually aimed at the previous Biden administration and not the current state of America under his leadership.

During his ongoing visit to Beijing, Trump took to Truth Social to defend America’s global image and present his administration as a driving force behind what he described as a major economic and military comeback.

In a strongly worded post, Trump said Xi’s remarks referred to the “damage” caused during former President Joe Biden’s tenure. He accused the Biden administration of weakening the economy, mishandling border security, and promoting policies that, according to him, hurt the country’s overall growth and stability.

Trump wrote that the United States had suffered during the Biden years due to “open borders, high taxes, crime, and weak trade policies,” while insisting that America has now entered a period of rapid revival under his administration.

The US President also highlighted what he called key achievements of his government, including strong stock market performance, record investments flowing into the country, job growth, and renewed military strength. Trump further claimed that Xi Jinping personally congratulated him on America’s recent progress during their meetings in Beijing.

The remarks come at a crucial time as Washington and Beijing attempt to stabilize ties amid tensions surrounding trade, Taiwan, and global security issues. During the summit, Xi reportedly emphasized the importance of maintaining a stable relationship between the world’s two largest economies while warning against actions that could increase conflict, especially over Taiwan.

Xi Jinping has repeatedly used the phrase “The East is rising and the West is declining” in recent years, a statement widely interpreted by political analysts as a criticism of the United States and Western influence globally. Chinese leadership has often pointed to political divisions, economic uncertainty, and social tensions in America as signs of long-term decline.

Despite the sharp political messaging, Trump ended his statement on an optimistic note, saying he hopes the relationship between the United States and China becomes “stronger and better than ever before.”

The ongoing Beijing summit between Trump and Xi is being closely watched worldwide, with analysts viewing it as a major moment for the future of US-China relations and global economic stability.
